OFS028 -The first beer in our virtual trip to Russia sees us brew our own interpretation on Kvass, a session strength beer traditionally brewed with rye bread across the Baltic states. We sourced wholemeal sourdough from local bakery Bluebird and built up a grist combining plenty of rye intertwined with oats and wheat as we do for our hazy IPA styles. After fermenting with our house Kveik strain we dry hopped generously with Amarillo and El Dorado. The result is a lightly tangy 4.5% session IPA with a complex spice from the bread and rye, a full mouthfeel of sweet orange flavours and a pithy lemon finish.
